Lauren and Chris met at Mariners Church in Irvine, California. They were in separate bible study groups that became one. At their first Sunday service as one group, they met by the fountain at their church, so they could all sit together during the church service. Lauren remembers walking up and seeing this tall handsome well-dressed man and she says she about melted on the spot. “He was charismatic and so genuine, I knew I would be lucky to have him in my life” she says…
Their proposal is a must-read-now text, described by Lauren herself:
“It’s actually a very funny story. My husband and I have been on many adventures together and he is always bringing spice in to our life. Living in California, we spent many days together at the beach swimming and playing volleyball. One night he told me that his car broke down near the beach on PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) and that he would need a ride home. I met him on the beach near the pier where he informed me that he had lost his keys on the beach while waiting for me. If you have ever met my husband you would know he is a huge animal lover and environmentalist. And so as we were looking for his keys in the dark we stumbled upon what seemed to be a piece of trash. He asked me to pick it up so it would not go into the ocean and kill an animal. I told him that I was not picking trash up off the beach. And then he asked again in his sweet voice so I agreed. I went to pick it up and when I grabbed it, it felt squishy like a jellyfish so I freaked and dropped it. He calmed me down and kept insisting that I pick it up so I began to get suspicious. I finally picked up the plastic; I realized it wasn’t trash at all. It was bubble wrap and there was a box inside. My jaw dropped and I looked at Chris and he was down on one knee and asked me to marry him”
“We were married at a courthouse in 2013 before moving out of state. We agreed we would one day have a formal celebration. I have dreamed of going to Santorini as long as I can remember. It always seemed so romantic. The sunsets looked absolutely unreal. In December, we planned a vacation to Greece for the following summer. So we thought why not have a ceremony while in Santorini? I think Santorini perfectly captures our adventurous side and the romance we wanted to share for our special day”
They were so kind to write about us:
“Our interaction with you could not have been easier. I never thought planning a wedding all by myself could be so simple. It was so easy to communicate with you through email. When we arrived in Santorini you met with us and we went over last minute details, it was such a breeze. Joanna and Chris are amazing photographers. We had so much fun taking pictures with them all day. We are so thrilled to be able to share this special day with our family and friends back home. The best day of our lives will forever be cherished and we have a keepsake for a lifetime thanks to you“.
We have them in our hearts and we miss them already…! Their photos are always here to remind us how beautiful love is and they are already a symbol of Romance…
